George Blum became general manager of the Grand Eastonian Suites Hotel in 2009, bringing with him two decades of experience in the hospitality industry. Blum’s extensive background in the field has been a critical resource in helping the hotel to improve its service and expand its clientele. His even temper and good nature have also helped greatly in assuring that guests have a positive experience during their stay and in building a loyal staff.
Prior to joining the Grand Eastonian, Blum served as general manager of a number of other hotels in a variety of locations, including the Best Western’s historic Independence Park Hotel in Philadelphia, the Alexander Inn in Center City Philadelphia, and the 145-room Wellesley Inn & Suites in Carney’s Point New Jersey. In addition to serving as a general manager in these hotels, Blum has also served in a variety of other managerial positions at a number of hotels, including the Best Western Widener Hotel & Suites in Chester Pennsylvania and the Korman Suites Hotel in Philadelphia. Blum also has significant management experience outside of the hospitality industry, including overseeing large storage and parking facilities.
Blum serves as a board member of Discover Lehigh Valley, as well as volunteering for a farmer’s market and economic development organization in other geographic areas. He also teaches classes on hospitality at Widener University, where he holds a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management.
